The Debris
Written by Danny Jarrett

I
like a hand undoes a blouse
this heart beats
and this mind thinks
skips
very much the same

II
feet filling the footprints
that grow smaller with distance
clumsily
just like the fountain
of a punctured vein
soon to be vacant.

III
most certainly i was unstoppable
as i was able to lie forever
but
then i cracked
all over.

IV
it was a debt that i could not repay
and so i felt fear, which,
much like arousal
does not go away.

V
oh
to be trapped
in a block of ice
floating in a tank full of
this exact moment.
