As I understand it
Nikki comes down the stairs
and says to Dave,
Jesus goddamn almight Christ
what are all these people
doing in our living room?
Then she throws an ashtray.

The ashtray cracks into the wall
and Dave slaps her across the face.

"Do you pay rent?  Do YOU pay rent?"

"Rent?  I gave you body and soul."

Dave picks up the cigarettes butts
and nobody has much to say.
as i undstand it.
